“Got A Lot To Prove” – Whelan Sets Returning Leeds Loanee A Challenge & Demands More In 2019/20

Former Leeds United striker and now BBC pundit, Noel Whelan, has been giving his thoughts on the speculation that has suggested Manchester City youngster Jack Harrison will be returning to Elland Road for a second year under manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Hay Expects Weekend Return For This Man & These Leeds Fans Are In A Forgiving Mood

Harrison has been a favourite on the rumour mill this summer for a second loan spell as manager Marcelo Bielsa certainly gave him the kind of game time that more than implies he relied on the 22-year-old youngster, even if the fans were largely mixed about his performances in our shirt.

With plenty being in a forgiving mood and expecting that we’ll see far more from him next season now he knows the club and doesn’t need to settle in, Whelan seems to share those thoughts as he spoke to Football Insider but he did demand more from the lad moving forward in the Championship campaign of 2019/20.

“It is unfinished business and he’s still got a lot to prove. This season we will be hoping to see the best of Jack Harrison and a more consistent Jack Harrison. We saw it in glimpses last year, not enough in the full 90 minutes in many games but he’s going to have an opportunity. We know he can shine on the big stage. We can see certain things in his game that makes him that good player that’s talked about by Pep Guardiola. He’s got to start producing that week in, week out on a more consistent basis. He squandered a few chances last year which you would expect someone of his talent to put in the back of the net.”

We definitely need more from him in terms of his goal and assists next season but in Bielsa we trust.
